The island of Gulangyu is a weird little resort off it’s bigger sister island, Xiamen. And it is a weird place, the attempts to make it more of a resort end up taking away any of it’s natural attributes. We booked a warrior ‘tour’ with a guide and yes, that’s not gonzo but it included the transport there and a visit to another site as well. The guide was called Michael [...] Maybe not the WORST, we haven’t been to them all – that would be retarded/unfeasible but this one is pretty shit, as well as being indisputable PROOF that monopolies are EVIL, as it’s the only hostel in Harbin – Northern China.
